沸石(Zeolite)火山熔巖形成的一種架狀結(jié)構(gòu)的鋁硅酸鹽礦物。沸石有獨(dú)特的礦物結(jié)構(gòu),其結(jié)構(gòu)為三維硅氧四面體和三維鋁氧四面體,這些四面體按一定的規(guī)律排列成具有一定形狀的晶體骨架。沸石的礦物骨架是一開放性的,具有很多的大小均一的通道和空腔(3~11)。在這些孔穴和通道中吸附著金屬陽離子和水分子,這些陽離子和水分子與陰離子骨架間的結(jié)合力較弱。沸石的這種特殊結(jié)構(gòu)決定了它所特有的性能 ,屬弱酸性陽離子交換劑。沸石晶體內(nèi)部的孔穴和通道的體積約占晶體總體積的一半以上,在孔穴和通道中存在許多沸石水,經(jīng)加熱水分可以逸失。失水后的沸石,形成了表面積很大的孔穴,一克沸石孔穴和通道的內(nèi)表面積可達(dá)500~1000平方米。這種多孔結(jié)構(gòu)決定它具有很強(qiáng)的吸附性。可吸附大量的有極性的分子,而且對水中有害的重金屬及有機(jī)物,具有吸附交換作用,也有利于去除水中各種微污染物且水浸出液不含有毒,有害人體物質(zhì),去除水中鐵、氟、氨效果更為顯著。沸石粉不僅具有特定的結(jié)構(gòu),還含有豐富的礦物元素,沸石作為一種含堿金屬、堿土金屬和稀土金屬的鋁硅酸鹽礦物,含有K、Ca、Mg、Al、Fe、Cu、Zn、Mn、B等多種大量和中微量元素,在水產(chǎn)養(yǎng)殖中,不僅是優(yōu)質(zhì)的水質(zhì)改良劑,還是很好的飼料添加劑。將沸石粉直接撒入水中,可調(diào)節(jié)PH值,吸附水中的有害氣體、有害物質(zhì)和藥物。增加含氧量,提高魚類成活率。在飼料中加入3—6%的沸石粉,可使魚明顯增重,特別是在消化道內(nèi)能起到氨容器作用,對提高機(jī)體內(nèi)酶的活性、促進(jìn)新陳代謝和增強(qiáng)機(jī)體抗病能力效果顯著,同時還可減少腸道疾病的發(fā)生, 更可有效地抑制飼養(yǎng)環(huán)境的臭味。

再生處理

目前,在水族市場出售的沸石,大多數(shù)呈粒狀或粉末狀。但由于沸石的價格比較便宜,許多水族愛好者在使用沸石失去功效以后就會丟掉,再重新購買使用。其實(shí),在沸石使用的過程中,只把沸石放入過濾器,而不加以處理的話,是不能保持水質(zhì)干凈的。只有通過定時清理、定期“再生”,才能夠繼續(xù)保持沸石的水質(zhì)過濾功效。沸石的吸附能力有限,所以逐日累積在沸石孔隙中的污垢是必須要即時清除的。這段定時清除的時間,在水質(zhì)一般正常的情況下,夏季一個月清除“再生”一次,而冬季則可延長至三個月清除“再生”一次,或根據(jù)實(shí)際水質(zhì)處理情況,自行控制延長或縮短清除“再生”的時間。所謂“再生”,就是再活性而恢復(fù)原有過濾功效的意思。而沸石的“再生”處理其實(shí)很簡單,只要將過濾器中使用沸石稍加清洗,去除表面較大的污垢等累積雜質(zhì)以后,放入飽和狀態(tài)的食鹽水中浸泡(因食鹽中的離子能夠吸除沸石多孔隙中累積的不能清洗處理的細(xì)微雜質(zhì),沸石因此就能回復(fù)新的狀態(tài)。而食鹽與沸石的再生處理的比例一般控制在1:3),這樣浸泡一整天以后再在太陽光下晾曬半天,就能使沸石的過濾效果完全恢復(fù)。
