采法特的發(fā)展

采法特位于加利利湖西北側(cè)的墨蘭（Mt。Meron）山上，是以色列海拔最高的小鎮(zhèn)，海拔高達(dá)八百米，而人口只有約二萬五千人。這小鎮(zhèn)建成于公元前二世紀(jì)，本是作為向耶路撒冷發(fā)放烽火記號。其后它成為猶太人造反的根據(jù)地，十字軍更在此地建了城堡，以控制通往大馬士革的公路。

采法特成為著名猶太文化社區(qū)，是在十五世紀(jì)，當(dāng)時西班牙發(fā)生宗教迫害，大批西班牙的猶太難民要逃命，而恰巧耶路撒冷的伊斯蘭教執(zhí)政者采取寬容政策，收容了這些難民，他們多是高水準(zhǔn)的知識分子，聚居在采法特，勤研圣經(jīng)，將猶太神秘教「卡巴拉」（Kabbala）發(fā)揚(yáng)光大。

筆者是第一次接觸「卡巴拉」，印象中似乎中文典籍從來沒有介紹。這個字源自希伯來語的字根kbl，意思是「接受」，整個字可解作「傳統(tǒng)」?？ò屠髁x者專門研究猶太傳統(tǒng)的神秘哲學(xué)和知識，并且從圣經(jīng)上找出密碼，所涉及的內(nèi)容，包括上帝、宇宙和科學(xué)。

聽猶太人說，「卡巴拉」太復(fù)雜、太深奧了，四十歲以下的人，人生經(jīng)驗不足，研究「卡巴拉」會神經(jīng)失常。這就吸引了我。鄙人早已年過四十，不怕走火入魔，何況復(fù)雜而深奧的東西，對我來說更是一種挑戰(zhàn)。

卡巴拉是猶太傳統(tǒng)文化，而西班牙的猶太高級知識分子，將它編纂為一本百科全書式的典籍，名為《索合》（Zohar），以西班牙文寫成，再翻譯成拉丁文。

如今在采法特，仍見不少西班牙的遺風(fēng)，我便進(jìn)入了一間小小的猶太會堂，創(chuàng)立者是早年來自西班牙Toledo的拉比Yosef Karo，我并且在會堂的留言冊上寫下我的名字和贈言。有興趣游采法特的讀者，可以試試找來一看。
