醫(yī)學(xué)史上的偉大先驅(qū)們——3.亞歷山大·弗萊明（Alexander Fleming）

隨著時(shí)代的發(fā)展和科技的進(jìn)步，人類(lèi)的平均壽命穩(wěn)步增高。探究其中原因，社會(huì)的安定、物質(zhì)條件的提升等因素自然非常關(guān)鍵，但醫(yī)學(xué)水平的突飛猛進(jìn)同樣重要。

在以往，任何外傷都是非常危險(xiǎn)甚至致命的。稍有不慎，一道小口子就可能導(dǎo)致嚴(yán)重的全身感染乃至休克。日本戰(zhàn)國(guó)時(shí)期德川家的猛將本多平八郎忠勝，一生馳騁沙場(chǎng)，從未負(fù)傷。卻在晚年雕刻佛像時(shí)不小心割破了手指，最終因?yàn)楦腥径劳?。不得不說(shuō)是相當(dāng)諷刺了。其隱藏著的真兇，就是看不見(jiàn)摸不著的各種細(xì)菌。

起初，人們被細(xì)菌感染以后，只能依靠自身免疫力硬扛，因?yàn)闆](méi)什么特效藥。這一過(guò)程可謂九死一生。然而，一切隨著一個(gè)人的發(fā)現(xiàn)而悄然改變。他就是青霉素的發(fā)現(xiàn)者，英國(guó)人亞歷山大·弗萊明爵士（Sir Alexander Fleming）。自此，抗生素的篇章被開(kāi)啟了。

弗萊明是戰(zhàn)地軍醫(yī)出生，對(duì)尋找避免士兵死于感染的可能性相當(dāng)敏感。他立刻順著這條線索繼續(xù)研究，結(jié)果驚喜地發(fā)現(xiàn)，即使將霉菌稀釋800倍，霉菌培養(yǎng)物也能阻止葡萄球菌的生長(zhǎng)。最終，他將該活性物質(zhì)命名為青霉素。
