dollars怎么讀

dollars的英式讀法是[ˈdɒləz]；美式讀法是[ˈdɑlərz]。 

dollar的基本意思是“元”，指美國、加拿大、新加坡、澳大利亞、新西蘭、津巴布韋等國和我國香港地區(qū)流通的一種貨幣單位，多指美元，其符號為$(或$)，還可指“一元紙〔硬〕幣”。用了符號$，就不可再用dollar，且$一般放在數(shù)字的前面。美元前有時加US，港幣前加HK。

dollar的歷史

當(dāng)時的波西米亞王國（現(xiàn)捷克）有個富含銀礦的河谷叫作Joachimsthal（thal在德語里是河谷的意思），國王下令用這里開采的白銀來鑄幣，于是這里出產(chǎn)的銀幣就被叫作Joachimsthaler，后來不論是否產(chǎn)自這個銀礦的銀幣，都被大家簡稱為Thaler（德語讀作“托勒”）。

這個詞因此也就成為了銀幣的代名詞，并在各個國家流傳和變異，比如荷蘭把Thaler寫作Daalder，后來又簡化為Daler，當(dāng)這個詞流傳到北美后，逐漸演變成了英語里的dollar。

16世紀(jì)西班牙戰(zhàn)士本著淘金的目的來到位于太平洋火山圈的安第斯山脈，卻在海拔13000英尺的波托西（Potosi）意外發(fā)現(xiàn)了儲備豐富的銀礦，于是駐扎下來進行開采，此后大約150年的時間里，這里生產(chǎn)出了 16000噸的白銀，而西班牙比索（Peso）在此期間也成為了當(dāng)?shù)啬酥潦澜绲牧魍ㄘ泿拧?/p>
