小白狗黛西有一個心愛的紅球，她每日與紅球相伴。有天帶著紅球出去玩耍時，遇到了一只棕色的小狗。小棕狗不小心把紅球弄壞了，黛西傷心極了。回到家后，她在沙發(fā)上沮喪地呆著。

再次出門的時候，她又遇到了小棕狗，這次，小棕狗帶來了一個藍(lán)色的球——黛西失去了一件深愛之物，卻獲得了一個可愛的朋友。

繪本的靈感來源于作者拉西卡的兒子。他兒子4歲時，曾擁有一個心愛的球，但是被狗狗不小心給弄壞了，兒子非常傷心和沮喪，這也許是兒子第一次經(jīng)歷失去，拉西卡以此展開了想象，創(chuàng)作了《黛西的球》。
