綠色包裝一般應(yīng)具有五個(gè)方面的內(nèi)涵：

　1）實(shí)行包裝減量化（Reduce）。包裝在滿足保護(hù)、方便、銷售等功能的條件下，應(yīng)是用量最少。

　2）包裝應(yīng)易于重復(fù)利用（Reuse），或易于回收再生（Recycle）。通過生產(chǎn)再生制品、焚燒利用熱能、堆肥化改善土壤等措施，達(dá)到再利用的目的。

　3）包裝廢棄物可以降解腐化（Degradable）。其最終不形成永久垃圾，進(jìn)而達(dá)到改良土壤的目的。Reduce、Reuse、Recycle和Degradable即當(dāng)今世界公認(rèn)的發(fā)展綠色包裝的3R1D原則。

綠色包裝的分級(jí)

綠色包裝分為A級(jí)和AA級(jí)。

1）A級(jí)綠色包裝是指廢棄物能夠循環(huán)復(fù)用、再生利用或降解腐化，含有毒物質(zhì)在規(guī)定限量范圍內(nèi)的適度包裝。

2）AA級(jí)綠色包裝是指廢棄物能夠循環(huán)復(fù)用、再生利用或降解腐化，且在產(chǎn)品整個(gè)生命周期中對(duì)人體及環(huán)境不造成公害，含有毒物質(zhì)在規(guī)定限量范圍內(nèi)的適度包裝。

綠色包裝的途徑主要有：促進(jìn)生產(chǎn)部門采用盡量簡化的以及由可降解材料制成的包裝；在流通過程中，應(yīng)采取措施實(shí)現(xiàn)包裝的合理化與現(xiàn)代化。

(1)包裝模數(shù)化。確定包裝基礎(chǔ)尺寸的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，即包裝模數(shù)化。包裝模數(shù)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)確定以后，各種進(jìn)入流通領(lǐng)域的產(chǎn)品便需要按模數(shù)規(guī)定的尺寸包裝。模數(shù)化包裝利于小包裝的集合，利用集裝箱及托盤裝箱、裝盤。包裝模數(shù)如能和倉庫設(shè)施、運(yùn)輸設(shè)施尺寸模數(shù)統(tǒng)一化，也利于運(yùn)輸和保管，從而實(shí)現(xiàn)物流系統(tǒng)的合理化。

(3)包裝多次、反復(fù)使用和廢棄包裝的處理。采用通用包裝，不用專門安排回返使用；采用周轉(zhuǎn)包裝，可多次反復(fù)使用，如飲料、啤酒瓶等；梯級(jí)利用，一次使用后的包裝物，用畢轉(zhuǎn)作他用或簡單處理后轉(zhuǎn)作他用；對(duì)廢棄包裝物經(jīng)再生處理，轉(zhuǎn)化為其他用途或制作新材料。

(4)開發(fā)新的包裝材料和包裝器具。發(fā)展趨勢(shì)是，包裝物的高功能化，用較少的材料實(shí)現(xiàn)多種包裝功能。
