畢業(yè)生的就業(yè)形勢(shì)是很不錯(cuò)的。隨著醫(yī)藥行業(yè)的發(fā)展和市場(chǎng)的規(guī)范化很多公司和機(jī)構(gòu)都需要生物統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)的畢業(yè)生制藥公司，生物技術(shù)公司、金融和保險(xiǎn)行業(yè)都對(duì)生統(tǒng)的畢業(yè)生有需求，薪資待遇也是非常不錯(cuò)的，去國(guó)家政府機(jī)構(gòu)等等，都是挺不錯(cuò)的。

研究生（包括碩士和博士）一般會(huì)選擇進(jìn)入醫(yī)藥行業(yè)或者科研機(jī)構(gòu)。生物統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)在世界范圍內(nèi)（尤其北美和歐洲）屬于專業(yè)性很強(qiáng)就業(yè)形勢(shì)不錯(cuò)的專業(yè)。

生物統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)是一門探討如何從不完整的信息中獲取科學(xué)可靠的結(jié)論從而進(jìn)一步進(jìn)行生物學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)研究的設(shè)計(jì)，取樣，分析，資料整理與推論的科學(xué).生物統(tǒng)計(jì)的畢業(yè)生不管是碩士還是博士，都很好找工作。雖然說(shuō)最近風(fēng)傳master工作不好找了，但是還真的沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)有誰(shuí)找不到工作被 迫回國(guó)的。除了博士畢業(yè)生可以作 faculty 之外，公司里也有很多職位，尤其是pharmaceutical company( 制藥公司) 或者biotech 公司很需要 biostatistician 。此外，有的畢業(yè)生也進(jìn)入金融和保險(xiǎn)行業(yè)。這幾年很多美國(guó)的大制藥公司很不景氣，所有的大公司都先后進(jìn)行了大規(guī)模的裁員，但是這并不影響生物統(tǒng)計(jì)的就業(yè)。盡管生物統(tǒng)計(jì)并不是公司里的核心部門，但是任何有大量醫(yī)學(xué)/生物數(shù)據(jù)需要處理的公司，都需要一個(gè)穩(wěn)定的 Biostatistician team來(lái) support，所以盡管行業(yè)不景氣，但是除非公司倒閉，否則我從來(lái)沒(méi)聽(tīng)說(shuō)過(guò)有任何作生物統(tǒng)計(jì)的被裁掉?，F(xiàn)在生物統(tǒng)計(jì)專業(yè)還是需求大于供給，盡管開(kāi)始趨于供需平衡?！　∩锝y(tǒng)計(jì)專業(yè)的畢業(yè)生，在就業(yè)上還有另外一個(gè)優(yōu)點(diǎn)，就是可以在醫(yī)院或者科研機(jī)構(gòu)工作，可以不受H1-B 名額限制。仍然以哈佛為例子，上面我提到的一些院系比如 Epidemiology系，DFCI ，醫(yī)院都有很多中國(guó)biostatistician 工作。在高校的科研機(jī)構(gòu)工作，盡管工資一般比較低(還是比 postdoc 強(qiáng)多了)，但是有四大優(yōu)勢(shì) : 一個(gè)是工作穩(wěn)定，哈佛什么時(shí)候裁員過(guò)? 二是辦綠卡容易，工作很穩(wěn)定辦綠卡只是時(shí)間問(wèn)題，而且如果一不小心，跟教授們一起合作發(fā)表點(diǎn)論文，就算是特殊人才辦理綠卡了，RP+ 運(yùn)氣好的，一年內(nèi)拿下綠卡的人我聽(tīng)說(shuō)過(guò)好幾個(gè)了;三是這種高校一般都比較有名，將來(lái)拿到綠卡之后，要到外面得公司找工作也是很方便的，公司里一般也認(rèn)為你在高校里應(yīng)該能掌握更新更先進(jìn)的技術(shù)。 2007 年初， H1-B 名額在幾天內(nèi)被迅速用完，成為一些想在美國(guó)就業(yè)的外國(guó)留學(xué)生的噩夢(mèng)。盡管我相信這種狀況會(huì)被很快改善，但是讀生物統(tǒng)計(jì)的，如果在公司找高薪工作不順利，總是有條很好的退路，對(duì)不?
