2、為什么航母底下那么窄而上面那么寬卻不會側翻？

首先航母在設計中，對于航母的重心有很好的把握，上層部分的外飄看著大，但是大都是空心的外飄箱式結構，而下面看似很窄，但是里面容納了航母的動力軸系和發(fā)動機、鍋爐等重量很大的設備，確保了航母始終是重心非常穩(wěn)定的狀態(tài)。

再者說，航母的下面也不見得就比飛行甲板的外飄窄很多，從船頭看當然窄了很多，因為船頭是尖尖的，要劈開水的阻力的，但是航母的腰線處和船尾處一般寬度就不小了，不分外飄不大的輕型航母甚至在船腰部分達到了艦體和外飄甲板一樣寬的程度。比如英國海軍的無敵級航母、蘇聯(lián)海軍的基輔級航母等。

而像美國那種大型航母，即便是外飄部分很大的，其船體在中部和尾部也已經(jīng)非常寬了，最寬的比值為40米寬的艦體和70米寬的外飄，兩邊各多出20米。這20米的箱體結構內(nèi)幾乎是空心的，沒有任何設備，被命中后就是一個大窟窿，但是其艦體部分卻是大量的水密隔艙構成，而且內(nèi)部有大量的動力設備和燃料物資，船體重心向下。

另外，很多航母在上層建筑中使用了鋁合金材料來降低重量，保障重心穩(wěn)定，比如遼寧艦和002型國產(chǎn)航母，他們都是如此，別看上層建筑巨大，其實由于是鋁合金，因此重量很輕，唯一的缺點是鋁合金不耐熱，但是能夠給航母帶來很好的航海性能，而在艦體部分則大量采用了特殊的高屈服強度鋼材，因此重量較大，也同樣保障了重心的穩(wěn)定。
