LOI有兩種含義：

1.letterofintent,意向書的意思。好多外國公司在合作前，一般都會要求對方簽訂一個(gè)合作意向書，就是有意向購買，不能作為法律依據(jù)，就相當(dāng)于“驗(yàn)證碼”，只有輸入，才能進(jìn)行下一環(huán)節(jié)，表現(xiàn)一種合作的誠意，省的浪費(fèi)大家時(shí)間。

2.letterofindemnity,意思是賠償保證書，就相當(dāng)于一種保函，常用作為卸貨保函。在卸貨過程中，船長只有見到正本提單才會同意卸貨，但由于郵寄等原因，船可能先于單據(jù)到達(dá)，為了及時(shí)安排靠泊卸貨，不產(chǎn)生滯期費(fèi)并影響船期，一般船長需要見到卸貨保函（買賣雙方都可以提供），防止因無正本提單卸貨而產(chǎn)生責(zé)任問題。在你的陳述中，應(yīng)該是指卸貨保函的意思，就是船到后，需要你們安排卸貨保函，以便卸貨的意思。（因?yàn)榫瓦@一句英文表述，所以不太確定）
