歷史教育學(xué)（historical pedagogy），從歷史教學(xué)法發(fā)展而來的、研究歷史教育過程的一門新興學(xué)科。

從20世紀(jì)中葉開始，美國、英國、日本、蘇聯(lián)等國家的歷史教育工作者，開始創(chuàng)建歷史教育學(xué)這門新學(xué)科。1969年，廣島大學(xué)教授、日本全國社會(huì)教育學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)長(zhǎng)乎田紀(jì)三發(fā)表了“以新的社會(huì)科學(xué)為目標(biāo)—新的歷史教育學(xué)”一文，第一次提出了“歷史教育學(xué)”這個(gè)名稱。1978年4月，廣島大學(xué)教育系創(chuàng)設(shè)了日本第一個(gè)“學(xué)科教育學(xué)”，設(shè)立了社會(huì)科學(xué)教育學(xué)專業(yè)。“歷史教育學(xué)”一詞被正式采用，標(biāo)志著這門學(xué)科的正式誕生。
